• Welsh metallers BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE have announced via Twitter that they have finished recording their third album for an early 2010 release. The CD was tracked at a Malibu, California studio with producer Don Gilmore, who has previously worked with LINKIN PARK and LACUNA COIL, among many others.
• Canadian extreme metallers KATAKLYSM have set "Heaven's Venom" as the title of the follow-up to 2008's "Prevail", tentatively due in October 2010 via Nuclear Blast Records.
• The readers of Aftonbladet, the biggest newspaper in Sweden and Scandinavia, have named IN FLAMES' "Come Clarity" the best Swedish album of the past decade. The LP received 26 percent of all votes.
• According to a recent online post by DEVILDRIVER bassist Jon Miller, the California metallers have six songs "in the bag" for the group's forthcoming album, which they "are looking to record sooner than later." He added, "We want to go faster and heavier on this one to answer any question on a 'direction' that we may be undertaking."
