Celebrate Labor Day in Madison with the Safe Harbor Run/Walk and Tot Trot to benefit kids! Join us September 6 at the Vilas Park Shelter to start the holiday with fun, fresh air and a good deed. Capital K-9's Dog Paddle

Come celebrate the dog days of summer! Dog Paddle 2010 is being held a week AFTER Labor Day this year. Rain or Shine, join us for Dog Paddle on Sunday, September 12th from 10am to 4pm at the Goodman Pool. Dogs get to swim and everyone has a lot of fun. The $10 admission covers one dog and two people. Madison "Light the Night" Walk
September 30, 2010

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's annual "Light the Night" Walk is September 30 at Olin Park from 5 to 8pm. The walk raises funds for research and patient assistance and to honor those whose lives have been touched by blood cancer. Walkers will carry illuminated balloons to shed light on blood cancers and raise public awareness of available resources for blood cancer patients and their families. By raising $100, you can be a Champion For Cures, and help people fighting cancer live better, longer lives. Plus you'll get a t-shirt, illuminated balloon and wristband good for food and drinks. Brittany Zimmermann Memorial 5k Run/Walk
October 2, 2010

The Brittany Zimmermann Memorial Run/Walk is October 2 at 9am. Packet pickup will be from 7 - 8:30am on the UW Library Mall, 800 block of Langdon Street. Race fee is $20 and deadline to register is September 10th to guarantee a t-shirt. Online registration closes September 30th. Your race fee includes a free race t-shirt, post race refreshments and help take a bite out of crime! UW student Brittany Zimmermann was murdered in her downtown apartment. Determined to prevent similar tragedies, the Madison Area Crime Stoppers and the Zimmermann family have partnered up to provide the Brittany Zimmermann Memorial 5k Run/Walk. Proceeds will help fund Crimestoppers activities in Dane County and during the first year, half the proceeds will go to the Zimmermann family to use towards solving Brittany's murder. Women ROCK for the Cure in October to raise awareness for Breast Health and Breast Cancer. The key to survival is early detection. Celebrate with the Madison Affiliate of Susan G.
