WJJO and Randy Hawke’s Radiothon made it happen
(MADISON) A Madison-Area veteran will find it easier to get in and out of his home thanks to DRS Asphalt Paving, Dane County Homes and Financing and Randy Hawke’s Radiothon for Veterans. This spring, U.S. Army Veteran Eric Ramsey will be getting a new driveway!
In December, WJJO’s Randy Hawke broadcast live for 28-hours and raised more than $22,000 for Dane County Veterans organizations: Badger Honor Flight, Dry Hootch, the VA Hospital and the Madison Vet Center. During the Radiothon, Krystal Strassman of DRS Asphalt Paving donated a new driveway to be given to a veteran in need. Hearing about the donation, Rob Miller from Dane County Homes and Financing nominated disabled veteran Eric Ramsey.
“We are a big hearted community and we are about helping each other and we really need to get together and help our local veterans,” Hawke said. “This is what happens during the annual Radiothon, businesses and people come together and give what they can to help their friends and neighbors.”
The new driveway will be paved in the coming months and you can see it happen on DRS Asphalt Paving’s Facebook page – facebook.com/DRSPaving.
