A couple of fresh singles are pushing into rotation, a few new records just landed on September 4, and more active rock names are lining up the next move.

Active rock is moving again this week, and you can hear it in real time. New singles are landing, fresh records hit on Friday, September 4, and a few songs already look like they’re angling for heavier rotation as we roll into the second week of September.

On the charts

NONPOINT is still one to watch. Their new single Is It was previously the top most-added track at Active Rock radio and has already climbed into the Mediabase Active Rock Top 50, giving the band real momentum heading toward the September 18 release of The Last Word.

Breaking Benjamin also stays in the conversation right now. The band is back on the road, and Something Wicked is still being framed as a 2026 chart-topping single, which keeps that song planted firmly in the current active rock lane.

New today

Tony Iommi has a fresh push on the street with World Alone. A limited seven-inch edition dropped on September 4, giving that track another burst of attention after the first single introduced his upcoming album From The Dark.

Fear Factory is back in the mix with Roboticist, the band’s first new single with vocalist Milo Silvestro. It arrived August 28, so it still feels brand new heading into this week’s programming conversations.

SAVE US also dropped a new one with Cry on September 3. It sets up the band’s next album, Death To Something, which is due October 16.

Album drops

Friday, September 4 brought a solid batch of rock and hard rock releases. Airbourne delivered a self-titled album, Audrey Horne released Achilles, and Theory Of A Deadman put out the Part 1: Funeral Songs EP.

That gives stations and listeners a few different lanes this weekend, from straight-ahead hard rock to familiar radio names testing new material. If you’re hearing fresh cuts sneak into the mix, this is where some of that movement starts.

Coming up

Next wave releases are already lined up. Texas Hippie Coalition is scheduled to drop Band Of Outlaws on September 11, and September 18 is shaping up with NONPOINT’s The Last Word and Plush’s Mass Hysteria.

So right now, the story is simple: proven bands are feeding the format, newer singles are starting their climb, and September is stacking up as a busy month for active rock radio.
