Slayer to Reunite!

After wrapping their farewell tour in 2019, Slayer is reuniting for 2 festivals this summer!

Slayer has been the only band announced for Riot Fest. As for Louder Than Life, the band will be joining the bill along with Slipknot, Korn, Motley Crue and more! 

In a statement, Tom Araya said, “Nothing compares to the 90 minutes when we’re on stage playing live, sharing that intense energy with our fans, and to be honest, we have missed that.” Kerry King added, “Have I missed playing live? Absolutely. Slayer means a lot to our fans; they mean a lot to us. It will be five years since we have seen them.”

FFDP Deluxe Digital Album Coming Soon!

[Los Angeles CA, January 12, 2023] — Multi-platinum hard rock powerhouse FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH today announced the digital deluxe edition of AFTERLIFE, their critically acclaimed ninth studio album. Set for digital release on February 9 via Better Noise Music, the deluxe version will include the original 12 tracks recorded with the band’s longtime collaborator, producer Kevin Churko (Ozzy Osbourne) in addition to four bonus tracks: three acoustic versions of the album’s songs “The End”, “Judgement Day,” and “Thanks For Asking” plus a brand new song, “This Is The Way” featuring the late rapper DMX. An official music video for This Is The Way (feat. DMX) will premiere on February 9, 2024 to coincide with the release of the digital deluxe version of AFTERLIFE.

Five Finger Death Punch guitarist Zoltan Bathory says about This Is The Way (feat. DMX): “Music is meant to be shared, and it starts at the top with us, the artists. We have always embraced the mixing

of genres, whether it be the remake of LL Cool J's "Mama Said Knock You Out" featuring Tech N9ne as a guest or our collaboration with blues warrior Kenny Wayne Shepherd, country star Brantley Gilbert, and Brian May, the legendary guitarist of Queen, on the song "Blue on Black.” The idea of collaborating with DMX had been in discussion for years, and it was a long and winding road to turn this particular item on our wish list into reality. He was a lyrical warrior, a true original who spoke his mind incorruptibly. We have always viewed DMX as "the metalhead of hip-hop" because of his aggressive, raw, and untamed style. He growled and snarled, aiming to rattle some cages – an attitude we share, as Five Finger Death Punch has always been drawn to the fearless and the real. Upon announcement of the digital deluxe version of AFTERLIFE today, Five Finger Death Punch has premiered an advance listen to the previously unreleased acoustic version of “Judgement Day” which can be streamed below or via YouTube HERE. The band previously partnered with Covenant House in November 2023 and released an official video for “Judgement Day” during National Runaway Prevention Month to help raise awareness about the Youth Homelessness Crisis. Gold-certified British rock frontrunners ASKING ALEXANDRIA are kickstarting the new year with a new EP highlighting the debut single, “Dark Void,” from their 2023 critically acclaimed album WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE? via Better Noise Music. Available today, January 12, across digital platforms, the DARK VOID EP features five tracks including the original version of “Dark Void” along with a new radio edit, a stripped-down piano version, and a Sullivan King-remixed version. The emotive and empowering single relates to those battling with mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and loneliness, while acknowledging the strength it takes to confront one’s inner demons and fight off negative thoughts.

THE BLACK KEYS ANNOUNCE 12TH STUDIO ALBUM, 'OHIO PLAYERS' OUT APRIL 5TH ON NONESUCH

The Black Keys kick off the new year with the release of their new single “Beautiful People (Stay High)” – available now on all streaming platforms. The song arrives alongside the announcement of the multiple-Grammy Award-winning, Akron, OH natives’ twelfth studio album Ohio Players, out April 5 via Nonesuch Records. An extensive international tour will be announced at a later date.

Written by The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney with longtime friends Dan “The Automator” Nakamura and Beck, the celebratory, joyful “Beautiful People (Stay High)” is one of several songs on the album that feature collaborations between the band and various additional friends and colleagues, including Noel Gallagher, Greg Kurstin, and others.

Speaking on the collaborative nature of the album, Carney shares, “We had this epiphany: ‘We can call our friends to help us make music.’ It’s funny because we both write songs with other people – Dan all the time [as a solo artist and producer], me when I'm producing a record. That’s what we do.”

Auerbach adds, “No matter who we work with, it never feels like we're sacrificing who we are. It only feels like it adds some special flavor. We just expanded that palette with people we wanted to work with. We were there to support them and their ideas, to do whatever we could to see that moment flourish. But when it came time to finish the album, it was just Pat and me.” 

“We'd never worked harder to make a record,” he continues. “It's never taken us this long to make an album. We took our time and did it right.”

“What we wanted to accomplish with this record was make something that was fun,” Carney says. “And something that most bands 20 years into their career don’t make, which is an approachable, fun record that is also cool.”

While making Ohio Players, a title inspired by the legendary Dayton, OH funk band of the same name, The Black Keys were also DJing dance parties in cities around the world that they called “record hangs,” spinning 45s from their own eclectic and growing collections. Mojo reports, “The spirit of those parties infused the album’s DNA. ‘That’s been the fun of it,’ [says] Auerbach. ‘Letting go a little bit.’”
